Shevaroyan Temple 

Located at an altitude of 5,326 feet, the Shevaroyan Temple is one of the highest points in the Yercaud hills. This cave temple, believed to be 2,000 years old, houses a statue of Lord Shiva and is worshipped by the tribal people of this region. It also contains an idol of Goddess Kaveri.

It is believed that the cave extends all the way to the Cauvery River in Karnataka, where Tipu Sultan used it as a hiding place during wars.

Every year in May, an annual festival is held and celebrated by the local tribes.

The Shevaroyan Temple is a must-visit attraction as it offers great scenic views of the valley and many other viewpoints.

Karadiyur View Point

Another tourist place to visit on the 32 km loop road is the Karadiyur viewpoint. This viewpoint offers a spectacular scenic view of the Mettur Dam, mountains, and valleys. It is one of the best places for nature lovers to relax in the natural environment and take great pictures.

The road leading to the Karadiyur viewpoint is similar to an off-road track and requires an entry ticket of ₹20 per person. You can either walk, trek, or take your personal vehicle to reach the top point. However, if driving, you must be skilled to handle the off-road conditions. This viewpoint closes at 5 PM as it gets dark and there are chances of wild animals appearing in the area.

Manjakuttai View Point 

Located just 5 km away from the Lake Park is the beautiful Sunrise Point, also known as Manja Kuttai viewpoint. This viewpoint is famous for its sunrise and sunset views, along with scenic views of the mountains.

There is ample parking space available near the viewpoint, and you can take your personal vehicle to the top to enjoy the views.

Cauvery Peak

On the way to the 32 km loop Road, you can also visit this coffee plantation where you can explore the process of making coffee and also various viewpoints and a man-made lake. You can also enjoy some fresh coffee at the Cauvery Peak Cafe. It is a good spot to relax and take pictures among the coffee plantations. In order to explore the coffee plantation, you will have to book your tickets for a cost of ₹600 per person.
