Kottachedu Teak Forest is located 11 km north east of Yercaud on Yercaud-Kuppanur Road. Kottachedu was a tribal region. But plague hit the region forcing tribe to relocate somewhere else. Now this is a dense teak forest area which provides nature lovers a chance to explore the unexplored region of this part of shevaroy hills.
This area has flourishing wildlife such as foxes, anteaters, bison, paradise flycatchers and many more.
Vanniyar River flows through this region then flows to Vanniyar Dam in Krishnagiri district.
Also you can visit Valavandhi Kari Ramar Temple, dedicated to Ram, Sita and Lakshman.
