Yercaud, a small hill station situated in the Shevaroy Hills of Tamil Nadu known for its scenic landscape, lush greenery and chill climate. While it is majorly known for its coffee plantation, view points and lake but it is also the home of some beautiful waterfalls. These waterfalls offer pleasant time to the visitors coming to this place.
Here is the List of Waterfalls in Yercaud:
1. Killiyur falls:
It is the major waterfall situated 3 km from yercaud lake. Killiyur waterfalls is seasonal waterfalls with the height of 91ft (300 m). During monsoon water overflows from the lake and other water streams falls through this waterfalls.
It is advisable that one can visit the waterfalls from June to October. During summer there might be no water flowing through the falls.
You need to walk down 200 steps from the nearest road to reach out this falls.
2. Mini Waterfalls Yercaud:
These waterfalls come in the 32km loop road. There are 2-3 small waterfalls on the side of road where you can just stop and enjoy with your family. There is less space for parking one needs to take car while stopping vehicle near the falls. You can bath under falls and take pictures with your family. It is just like while starting trip to yercaud, waterfalls welcomes you.
3. Nallur Waterfalls:
It is located in Nallur Village which is 20 km away from the Yercaud city. If you are adventure lover then this waterfall journey is for you as one has to drive through beautiful valley and then has to take a short trek to reach this waterfalls. The will be less crowd as this waterfall is less explored.
Things to remember while visiting the falls:
1. Don't litter the surroundings
2. You might need to trek or walk down which might not suitable for the elders and kids
3. You should not climb the water bodies as rocks might be slippery
4. There might be no commercial shops so carry your foods and water bottles with you.
